Enhance Your Blues: Cyanotype colouring session
Based on the prints made at our recent cyanotype workshop, this session is about relaxing, exploring colours and simply enjoying the artistic process. No pressure, just vibes, relaxation and a chance for pure creative expression.
What is cyanotyping?
Cyanotype is an old photographic process that produces prints in a deep blue colour. The technique was invented in 1842 by a certain Sir John Herschel. He figured out how to use iron-based chemicals that react to UV light. You spread the reagents on paper (or fabric), cover it with a negative or other objects, expose it to the sun, rinse it in water and a unique blue image is produced. It is a non-toxic and simple technique that creates striking results.
About this workshop: Pure artistic freedom!
You've already got your cyanotype prints, now it's time for creative freedom! This practical session is not about rigid learning or mastering complex techniques. Instead, you can simply experiment and see what happens. We'll have a variety of media ready to try out, and you can simply follow your intuition to transform your print into something truly unique.
Grab watercolours, gouache, thin pens or crayons and let your creativity run wild. Add splashes of colour, delicate details or bold strokes - whatever you see fit! There are no rules, just an invitation to layer and enhance your prints with new shades.
For whom is this workshop intended?
If you have already attended our cyanotype workshops and are looking for a relaxed space to creatively enhance your prints, this is it! No artistic experience is required - just bring your prints and a willingness to experiment.
Please bring with you:
- Dried cyanotype prints, for example, from our previous session
- Don't have a print yet? No problem! You can use the ones prepared by us. Just choose an option when purchasing your ticket (A4 or A3) and you will receive one of the ready-made prints on site.
Relax, connect with other creatives and simply enjoy the journey of transforming your plans into personalised works of art!
